Bandung Area
Not far from Bandung is Kawah Domas (Domas Crater) in Tangkuban Perahu. It is still an active volcano with the most recent activity in 1992 and eruptions in 1969.

On the outside of the crater rising heat and sulfuric gases have mixed with the ground water to form mini-geysers and hot springs.
Really hot water pools. The mud is believed to have healing properties such as making your skin
whiter. I stayed away from the mud, I'm too white already.
Mini-geyser.
When in Rome.... (Its very very hot)
Sulfuric steam mysteriously coming out of the ground.
A class of students decided they had never had their picture with a goofy,
fat, bald, white guy before.... (yes I'm blushing).
Further down the mountain are hill after hill of tea plantations near Ciwidey.
Even further down the mountain are endless terraces of pots full of strawberry plants not far from Ciwidey.
All around Bandung you can see the traditional transportation "delman".
Also a short distance from Bandung is the waterfalls at Maribaya.

Panaroma of Kawah Putih another ancient volcano with sulfiric gases and bubbling mud.

Kawah Putih is a favorite place for wedding pictures.
... And even model photo shoots.
Canon Owners Beware! The guy on the left has a Nikon film camera. The guy on
the right has a canon digital SLR and is BALD (and the guy who took this picture also).
(I wont comment on Nikon users being stuck in the 70's :-) )
I'd like to send a special thank you to my hosts, tour guides and friends:
Herie, Ina, and Leeya.
